Also the population continues to age and the changes in the lifestyles such as reduced physical activity, unbalanced diets and increased tobacco abuse are drivers for this development. These changes concern adults as well as children and force the governments in Asia to develop new concepts to adjust the healthcare structures and encourage its people to lead healthier lifestyles.
The EU-Thailand-Malaysia Matchmaking Conference 2007 provided the basic knowledge and the necessary business contacts for companies, organizations and related associations to start and run inter-sector prevention and care projects for such diseases. They will gain exposure to existing EU products and service models in order to promote future developments in their respective countries.
Seventythree companies and institutions from 8 countries came together to discuss future business opportunities in prearranged 30 minutes one-to-one cooperation meetings.
